Alberta reports 1,100 new COVID-19 cases for April 1

Alberta Health is reporting 1,100 new cases of COVID-19 in the province for Friday, April 1.

The new cases come after Alberta Health completed 13,300 tests, resulting in an eight per cent test positivity rate.

Of those new cases, 300 were variants of concern. Alberta Health says variants now make up 33 per cent of all current active cases in the province.

Hospitalizations remained stable over the last 24 hours.
