City reminds restaurant owners of grants available for operations impacted by COVID-19 restrictions

Apr 7, 2021 | 5:44 PM

City Hall is reminding restaurant owners they can take advantage of grants offered under the City of Grande Prairie’s Economic Recovery Program.

The program offers a Beautification & Patio Grant to support businesses as they adapt to provincial COVID-19 regulations announced on April 6.

For restaurants, outdoor dining will be allowed to continue under the new restrictions.

Because of this, the City has waived fees for patio permit applications to encourage local businesses to establish outdoor patios for customers.

The grant supports restaurant owners by matching up to 50 per cent of project costs to a maximum of $15,000 for any potential upgrades the business needs to make.

Those interested in applying to create a patio are asked to email dev_permitting@cityofgp.com.

More information on how to apply for the grant can be found on the City’s website
