COVID-19 Vaccination Locations

Hythe pharmacy joins growing list of vaccination sites in the Grande Prairie region

Apr 12, 2021 | 12:55 PM

The Hythe Guardian Pharmacy has joined the growing list of pharmacies offering COVID-19 vaccinations within the County of Grande Prairie’s regional boundary.

The pharmacy has just received their first shipment of 100 doses of the AstraZeneca shots.

The delivery of these shots means the pharmacy can begin inoculating Albertans age 55 to 64 without pre-existing health conditions in the region.

Charlene Minilie, the Pharmacy Assistant at Hythe Guardian Pharmacy, says they plan to administer all 100 shots over the course of 10 days, and then, hopefully, get access to another batch.

“We’re hoping that once we get through our 100 doses that there will be enough supply to provide us with the next 100 doses, then we’ll go from there. And as the Government of Alberta allows us to administer more vaccines to more age groups, we’ll continue to do that,” says Minilie.

People in Hythe and the surrounding area can contact the pharmacy online or at 780-356-3990 to book appointments.

Minilie says she’s very grateful to have the doses at the pharmacy and be able to offer them to the public.

“It’s been excellent to be given the opportunity to help the community and we’re glad to be a part of that,” says Minilie. “Administering vaccines isn’t something new to us, it’s just that for this particular rollout of the vaccine, it is very much a privilege to be a part of this.”
