The Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital has been placed under outbreak protocol, as Alberta Health Services says a patient at the hospital has tested positive for COVID-19

AHS says the outbreak was declared on April 21, and control measures will now be implemented on the affected unit.

Protocols include any patient with symptoms, or who has tested positive for COVID-19, being isolated and treated in designated rooms.

Any patients deemed to be at-risk of being exposed will be tested.

AHS adds admissions are currently restricted and visitation is limited at this time.

Other outbreaks still considered active as of Friday in Grande Prairie include the Gardens at Emerald Park, the Canadian Brewhouse, the County of Grande Prairie administration building in Clairmont, Reed Energy Group, Rotary House, Royal Camp Services, Stepping Stones South Daycare and Walmart.

Outbreaks at Michels Canada in Valleyview and the Peace River Bible Institute in Sexsmith are also considered active.

Outbreaks in all settings are declared over when four weeks have passed since the last case was identified.
