Site preparations underway for upgrading Aquatera’s Wembley Lift Station #3

Aquatera Utilities Inc. has begun site preparation for electrical upgrade work at Wembley Lift Station #3 as part of the decommissioning project of Wembley Lift Station #2.

The current work involves preparing the site, located near the intersection of 94 Street and 99 Avenue, for the installation of a stand-by generator, building and fence. There will also be SCADA/electrical upgrades made to the station.

The decommissioning project will eliminate Lift Station #2, and use a gravity main to divert all sanitary flows to Station #3. The gravity main was installed in August of 2020.

The upgrades to Lift Station #3 are expected to be complete by mid-July, 2021.

Aquatera says the work is not expected to impact traffic in the area, nor should it interfere with the playground located next to the site. However, in the case of certain construction practices that may put the public at risk, the park may have to be closed temporarily, and the public is asked to obey all posted signs in the area.
