Storm to take on Sherwood Park next two weekends

The Alberta Junior Hockey League has released its final regular season cohort schedule, and the Grande Prairie Storm will be closing out the COVID-impacted 2020-21 season with a four-game set against the Sherwood Park Crusaders..

The Storm are coming off a four-game series with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, which came to a close on Saturday with a 3-1 win at Revolution Place.

The Storm and Crusaders will play at Revolution Place on Friday, April 30 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 1 at 4 p.m. No fans will be permitted to attend, but all games will be streamed live on HockeyTV or TELUS Optik TV channel 1980.

The two teams will then play two games in Sherwood Park the following weekend to end their regular season. The league will not be holding playoffs this season.

Since the league’s return to play in March, the Storm have played in cohorts with the Whitecourt Wolverines, Drayton Valley Thunder and Fort McMurray, where they have amassed a record of 4-6-0.

Overall, the Storm sit with a record of 6-7-1 in the broken up 2020-21 AJHL season.
