“Ambitious goals” added to National Beef Strategy
Canada’s beef industry says it has set what it calls “ambitious goals” it wants to achieve by 2030.
It has added work on water; people health and safety; beef quality and food safety; and technology to its National Beef Strategy.
These join three others announced last fall, greenhouse gas and carbon sequestration; animal health and welfare; and land use and biodiversity.
A news release says the idea is for the beef industry to become part of mitigating climate change and being part of a sustainable food system.
