Online Engagement Sessions

City of Grande Prairie opens community consultations ahead of 2022 budget prep

May 3, 2021 | 3:48 PM

The City of Grande Prairie is wanting to know what the community’s priorities are, as they begin early work of preparing the 2022 city budget.

The city has opened online engagement from now until May 24, which includes a survey, a balancing act tool for residents to learn how the city’s operating budget is allocated, an idea space to share thoughts and a Q&A space to ask questions of administration about the budget.

City officials add that an in-person engagement session is being planned for a future date, contingent of public health measures allowing it. Results from all the engagement sessions will then be presented to City Council prior to budget deliberations in November.

“The goal of this project is to consult with the community for a more in-depth understanding on what services and initiatives residents value the most, where they want to invest their tax dollars, and how satisfied they are with the services the City offers,” says the city, in a release.
