Jun 7, 2021 | 2:27 PM

The June 1 crop report from Alberta Agriculture says seeding was almost done in the Peace Region by that date.

The report says seeding progress stood at 98.8 per cent, well ahead of the five-year average of 84.3 per cent and the ten-year average of 90.5.

It also says 73 per cent of the crop had emerged and that nine per cent of the seeded acreage had been sprayed.

Alberta Agriculture says the northern part of the Peace Region is one of the areas that is considered dry, as are all areas south of Edmonton.

As of June 1, province-wide, 99 per cent of the crop was in with only feed grains to be used for silage left to be planted.
