Over 80 vehicles stopped, no impaired drivers found in High Prairie check-stop

Jun 8, 2021 | 10:00 AM

On Saturday, June 5, High Prairie RCMP conducted a check-stop on Highway 750 near Grouard to screen for potentially impaired drivers.

Over the course of the day, over 80 vehicles were checked for open liquor and drugs, and Mandatory Alcohol Screenings (MAS) were done on drivers.

MAS is a process that involves using a roadside breath screening test to detect alcohol-impaired drivers.

Throughout the screening process, drivers remained in their vehicles, and the RCMP says the process was routine and quick and delays were minimal for sober drivers.
