No new COVID-19 cases in Grande Prairie, eight recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie recorded no new COVID-19 cases and eight recoveries for Monday, June 14, dropping the City’s active case total to 45.

That active case total is the lowest recorded since October 14, when there were 44 active cases in the city.

In the County of Grande Prairie, there were no new cases along with four recoveries. There are now 29 active COVID-19 cases there.

There were 127 new COVID-19 cases added in Alberta on Monday, following the completion of 4,476 tests. Those tests had a positivity rate of 2.8 per cent.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of June 14 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 3,923 cases (45 active, 3,849 recovered, 29 deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 1,404 cases (29 active, 1,371 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 586 cases (four active, 578 recovered, four deaths)
  • Birch Hills County: 32 cases (two active, 30 recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 81 cases (all recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: 31 cases (one active, 30 recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 147 cases (one active, 136 recovered, 10 deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 714 cases (five active, 697 recovered, 12 deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 373 cases (16 active, 356 recovered, one death)
  • M.D. of Peace: 689 cases (11 active, 678 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 131 cases (129 recovered, two deaths)
  • Clear Hills County: 135 cases (134 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 310 cases (309 recovered, one death)
  • County of Northern Lights: 136 cases (all recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 1,921 cases (39 active, 1,856 recovered, 26 deaths)

Hospitalizations

Hospitalizations for COVID-19 in Alberta increased by one to 271 as of Monday night, while ICU patients decreased by five to 68.

In the North Zone, 31 people remain in hospital, six of whom are in the ICU (down one).

Fatalities

Four new deaths were reported to Alberta Health over the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll from COVID-19 in the province to 2,274.

Vaccinations

In Grande Prairie, 51.4 per cent of all eligible residents have their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, meaning 32,040 people 12 and older have at least one dose. There are 7,849 people, or 12.6 per cent of those eligible, who have been fully vaccinated.

Across Alberta, the number of people who have received at least one dose of vaccine sits at 2,643,794 while 836,613 Albertans have received two doses.

Those totals mean 59.1 per cent of Albertans are immunized with at least one dose, or 69.4 per cent of those aged 12+.

Alberta Health adds 18.7 per cent of the population (22 per cent of those 12+) have been fully vaccinated.
