100 Avenue between 99 and 98 Street closing starting Friday

As the Downtown Rehab and Streetscape project rolls forward, the stretch of 100 Avenue between 99 and 98 Street will be closing to parking starting Friday, while traffic will no longer be able to access that stretch starting Saturday for the remainder of the project.

The city says pedestrian access will remain, despite sidewalks eventually being removed and replaced. They say temporary sidewalks will be installed when that time comes.

That extension of the project means 100 Avenue from 100 Street to 98 Street (Resources Road) will be closed off to traffic. The city has provided a detour map to get around the construction.

“The City thanks everyone for their continued patience and understanding while the downtown core undergoes major construction,” they say, in a release.

“Downtown remains open for business and everyone is encouraged to continue to support downtown businesses.”
