Beaverlodge RCMP locate man wanted for attempted murder

Jun 28, 2021 | 10:27 AM

The Beaverlodge RCMP says they were able to locate and arrest Harley Ferguson thanks to a tip from the public.

Ferguson was wanted on warrants, including one for attempted murder.

On June 12, RCMP were called to reports of an interaction between a suspect male and female, and a 27-year-old man. Police say that interaction led to shots being fired where the 27-year-old man suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. He was later treated in hospital and has since been released.

Police later located the female suspect, 23-year-old Stacey Horseman of Horse Lake, and charged her with attempted murder with a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and discharging a firearm with intent, among others.

Ferguson was able to get away at the time, but was located and arrested on June 25.

Following a judicial hearing, Ferguson was remanded into custody and is scheduled to attend Grande Prairie Provincial Court on June 30, 2021.

No further updates will be provided by RCMP as the matter is before the courts.
