Evergreen Park set to welcome back horse racing July 10

Jul 5, 2021 | 6:53 PM

Horse racing at Evergreen Park is returning on Saturday, July 10.

The 2021 horse racing schedule at Evergreen Park will feature 18 race days this season, three more than in 2020.

The races will take place on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:15 p.m. There will also be two Friday racing sessions held on July 23 and 30.

Evergreen Park General Manager Dan Gorman says they are excited to welcome everyone back for another season of racing.

“We are wide open and ready to go,” explained Gorman. “We’ve got over 350 horses on-site. The jockeys, trainers, and owners have all come in and we are ready to go this weekend.”

While COVID-19 restrictions won’t be in place this summer, Gorman says they’ll make sure the track is comfortable for anyone who might attend.

“We are still asking everyone to be a little cautious and use the regular protocols like washing hands and social distancing,” said Gorman.

“We’ll be able to accommodate everyone and still give everybody that sense of comfort and security with the spacing and stuff that people have been used to for the last year and a bit. We are looking forward to another great race season.”

Those who are unable to attend the races this summer won’t have to worry about missing out. Gorman says online betting will return so everyone can enjoy the experience.

The racing season at Evergreen Park will conclude on August 29. Any updates on the races will be made on Evergreen Park’s Facebook page.
