Jul 9, 2021 | 9:22 AM

Six people, including a Grande Prairie man, are facing charges after drugs, firearms and a stolen vehicle were discovered at a home in Whitefish Lake First Nation last month.

The discovery happened after High Prairie RCMP were alerted of a pickup truck which had been stolen from a home in the community on May 30 of this year.

After investigation, RCMP obtained a search warrant for another home in Whitefish Lake, which was searched on June 22 with the help of the High Prairie RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS), as well as officers from Red Earth Creek, McLennan, High Level and Slave Lake GIS.

The search of the home led to the seizure of the stolen pick-up truck, a rifle, a handgun, expandable baton, a quantity of ammunition and a quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine.

Six individuals were arrested and charged because of this investigation, and RCMP say three of those six individuals were already wanted on 34 outstanding warrants.

Those now facing charges, or facing new charges, include 24-year-old Evan Kelly Anderson of Grande Prairie, 25-year-old Daylon Lyndon Lamouche and 35-year-old Taryn Lee Laderoute of Cadotte Lake, 24-year-old Bobby Fawn Auger, 38-year-old Conrad Marcel Laboucan of Whitefish Lake and a 16-year-old from Peace River.

All six are due in High Prairie Provincial Court later this month.
