No new COVID-19 cases or recoveries added in Grande Prairie, Alberta adds 35

No new COVID-19 cases or recoveries were added in the City of Grande Prairie for July 12. There remain three active cases in the City.

In the County of Grande Prairie, there were two new COVID-19 cases and recoveries identified over the last 24 hours. The County stays at two active cases.

Across Alberta, 35 new cases were identified on 4,991 completed tests, resulting in a 0.7 per cent test positivity rate. There are currently 599 active cases in the province.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of July 12 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 3,960 cases (three active, 3,928 recovered, 29 deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 1,417 cases (two active, 1,410 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 594 cases (590 recovered, four deaths)
  • Birch Hills County: 33 cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 82 cases (one active, 81 recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: 32 cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 149 cases (two active, 137 recovered, 10 deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 729 cases (14 active, 702 recovered, 13 deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 380 cases (378 recovered, two deaths)
  • M.D. of Peace: 703 cases (12 active, 691 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 144 cases (13 active, 129 recovered, two deaths)
  • Clear Hills County: 136 cases (one active, 134 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 311 cases (310 recovered, one death)
  • County of Northern Lights: 136 cases (all recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 1,941 cases (13 active, 1,902 recovered, 26 deaths)

Hospitalizations

Across the province, hospitalizations remained stable at 112, while the number of ICU patients fell by one to 33.

In the North Zone, 13 people are in hospital (unchanged), while one is in the ICU (unchanged).

Fatalities

Three new deaths as a result of COVID-19 were reported to Alberta Health over the last 24 hours, 2,310 people have now died as a result of COVID-19 in the province.

Vaccinations

In Grande Prairie, 34,365 people have been given at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine while 24,961 people, or 40.5 per cent of the population, are fully vaccinated.

Across Alberta, 2,792,191 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine while 2,102,718 Albertans have been fully vaccinated.

This means 74.2 per cent of eligible Albertans have been given at least one dose of the vaccine, while 55.9 per cent of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated.
