Alberta adds 46 new COVID-19 cases, no new cases reported in Grande Prairie

The City of Grande Prairie remained at three active COVID-19 cases for July 13, as it added no new cases or recoveries.

No new cases or recoveries were reported in the County of Grande Prairie, leaving it at two active cases.

Across Alberta, 46 new cases of COVID-19 were identified on 6,859 tests, resulting in a 0.6 per cent test positivity rate. There are 569 active cases in the province.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of July 13 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 3,960 cases (three active, 3,928 recovered, 29 deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 1,417 cases (two active, 1,410 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 594 cases (590 recovered, four deaths)
  • Birch Hills County: 33 cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 82 cases (one active, 81 recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: 32 cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 149 cases (two active, 137 recovered, 10 deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 729 cases (13 active, 703 recovered, 13 deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 380 cases (378 recovered, two deaths)
  • M.D. of Peace: 703 cases (11 active, 692 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 144 cases (12 active, 130 recovered, two deaths)
  • Clear Hills County: 136 cases (one active, 134 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 311 cases (310 recovered, one death)
  • County of Northern Lights: 136 cases (all recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 1,941 cases (12 active, 1,903 recovered, 26 deaths)

Hospitalizations

Across the province, hospitalizations grew by one to 113, while ICU patients remained stable at 33.

In the North Zone, 14 people are in hospital (up one), while one is in the ICU (same).

Fatalities

One new death was reported, bringing the province’s COVID-19 death toll to 2,311.

Vaccinations

In Grande Prairie, 34,437 people have been given at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine while 25,491 people, or 41.4 per cent of the population, are fully vaccinated.

Across Alberta, 2,796,022 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine while 2,124,395 Albertans have been fully vaccinated.

This means 74.3 per cent of eligible Albertans have been given at least one dose of the vaccine, while 56.5 per cent of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated.
