Wildfire south of Grande Prairie classified as Being Held
A wildfire burning nine kilometres south of Nose Mountain Road and about 100 kilometres south of the City of Grande Prairie, is now classified as being held at 75 hectares in size.
Alberta Wildfire says the fire, which was first detected Tuesday afternoon, is not expected to grow due to current weather conditions and the number of resources fighting the fire. They add crews have also completed a guard around the fire.
There are 13 firefighters, three helicopters and a water delivery vehicle continuing to work on the blaze.
As of noon on Friday, Alberta Wildfire says there are nine active fires in the Grande Prairie Forest Area, three which are Being Held and six which are Under Control.
