Fire Restrictions lifted in Grande Prairie Forest Area, County of Grande Prairie
Fire Restrictions have been lifted in both the Grande Prairie Forest Area and the County of Grande Prairie, as recent rain and cooler temperatures have dropped the wildfire danger risk to Low in the area.
With that restriction lifted, residents can once again apply for fire and fireworks permits in the County. The County reminds residents that permits are required to do any burning in the County, and that burning is not permitted when winds are blowing at 12 km/h or higher.
Fire permits are once again being issued for the Grande Prairie Forest Area by Alberta Wildfire as well.
Alberta Wildfire says there are eight active wildfires in the Grande Prairie Forest Area, three of which are classified as Being Held and five which are considered Under Control.
