Jul 28, 2021 | 5:23 PM

Alberta Agriculture and Forestry says a fire advisory is once again in effect for the Grande Prairie Forest Area.

Current permits remain valid and new ones will be issued on a case-by-case basis. Any burning without a permit, other than campfires, is not allowed.

The current wildfire danger is listed as high.

The Grande Prairie Forest Area currently has four active fires, but all are under control. Since March 1, 81 wildfires have burned 130 hectares in the area.

A fire advisory is also in effect for the Peace River Forest Area. The wildfire hazard there is considered moderate.

It has no active fires. Since March 1, it has had 949 wildfires that have burned 47,580 hectares.
