AHS closing Grande Prairie Rapid Vaccination Clinic Sunday

Aug 6, 2021 | 2:27 PM

Alberta Health Services says it will be closing the rapid-flow COVID-19 immunization clinic at the Montrose Cultural Centre as of Sunday night.

The Grande Prairie clinic at the Teresa Sargent Hall, which first began operation on April 5, will close on August 8 at 4:30 p.m. AHS says it will remain open for both first- and second-dose immunization appointments until that time.

AHS says anyone looking to get vaccinated beyond this date can continue to do so in Grande Prairie, including at the public health centre, pharmacies and physician offices.

Appointments to get vaccinated can be booked by using the AHS online booking tool, calling Health Link at 811 or contacting local pharmacies and physician offices.

“AHS is grateful for the partnership with… the City of Grande Prairie for the use of Teresa Sargent Hall,” AHS says in a release Friday.

As of August 4, over 35,000 residents of Grande Prairie had at least one shot of a vaccine, which equals 57.7 per cent of the eligible population. Nearly 30,000 of those people, or 48.3 per cent of those eligible, have been fully vaccinated.
