The remains of a Red Deer man who had been missing and presumed drowned since Aug. 11, have been located near Sicamous, B.C.

RCMP say the 64-year-old man’s body was pulled from Mara Lake on the afternoon of Aug. 20 by the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART).

They say he was swimming near his boat in deep water when he went into distress.

The lake was searched from Aug. 13-15 by the RCMP South East District Under Water Recovery Team (URT) without success. HEART then began their own three-day search starting on Aug. 18.
