Hythe residents invited to open house on County transition Sept. 7

Aug 23, 2021 | 2:54 PM

Residents of Hythe are invited to an open house next month to connect with County Council members and staff and learn more about the new hamlet’s transition into the County of Grande Prairie.

Hythe and area residents will be able to stop by the Hythe Legion Hall starting at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7.

Staff will be able to provide information about County initiatives, programs, and services, including priority topics such as roads and infrastructure, snow removal, safety, policing, taxes, support for residents and more.

This comes after the former village officially dissolved, becoming a hamlet within the County of Grande Prairie on Canada Day.

“This is a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with everyone,” said Reeve Leanne Beaupre.

“If you live, work or own a business in Hythe, please stop by and say hello to County Council and to connect with staff members about the municipal services we provide and ask any questions you may have.”

The evening will include remarks from Reeve Beaupre. That will be followed by a complimentary barbecue dinner which will be served at 5:30 p.m.
