Storm send Meerman to Blackfalds for Zach Brooks

The Grande Prairie Storm have sent forward Brett Meerman to the AJHL expansion Blackfalds Bulldogs in exchange for forward Zach Brooks.

Meerman, who is from Blackfalds, spent from 2019-21 with the Storm, where he tallied 12 goals and 28 points in 61 games with the club.

Meantime, Brooks spent last season playing with the West Kelowna Warriors of the BCHL, where he scored 10 points in 20 games for the club.

Prior to his time in West Kelowna, the 20-year-old spent the 2019-20 season with the Cowichan Valley Capitals, where he played under current Storm Head Coach and General Manager Mike Vandekamp.

Brooks will suit up for the Storm when the club’s training camp begins on August 29.
