UPDATE: TELUS says service restored after intermittent issues Thursday

UPDATE (1:30 p.m.): TELUS says all services have been fully restored in Alberta and B.C. after there were “intermittent issues” for about one hour today.

“We know how critical connectivity is for our customers, and we sincerely apologize for the service interruption,” said a TELUS spokesperson, in an email to EverythingGP.

No cause for the issues was provided.

The Alberta Emergency Management Agency has issued an alert due to an incident which is affecting telephone and cell phone service across Alberta.

The alert says the outage is impacting Alberta and British Columbia. At this time, 911 service is not affected.

The agency says residents should check all communication devices for a signal, including landlines and cell phones. They also say to make plans with family, neighbours, and friends to help each other if an emergency does occur.
