Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce to hold virtual City, County election forums

Sep 16, 2021 | 7:13 AM

The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting all-candidates forums for both the City and County of Grande Prairie over the next month ahead of the October 18 municipal elections.

On September 28, all candidates for Mayor and Council in the city will be invited to take part in a live event broadcast over Zoom.

The debate for the City of Grande Prairie election will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will be split up into two different sessions.

This first part of the session will include the introduction of candidates for Council, with a question period and closing statements. Those running for Mayor will then participate in a forum with a similar format.

The County of Grande Prairie’s forum will take place on October 5 and will also take place on Zoom. Only candidates running for County Council within Divisions which have more than one candidate registered for the October 18 election will be invited to take part.

Those interested in viewing the forums must register in advance in order to receive a Zoom link.

The general public is invited to submit questions for the forums and direct questions at all candidates to news@gpchamber.com
