Conservative Chris Warkentin projected winner in Grande Prairie-Mackenzie
The Canadian Press and CBC are projecting Conservative Party of Canada candidate Chris Warkentin as the winner in Grande Prairie-Mackenzie in the 2021 federal election, earning him re-election for a sixth term in Ottawa representing the Peace County.
This comes as Warkentin leads with 67.6 per cent of the vote with 156 of 239 polls reporting preliminary results in the riding as of 10:30 p.m.
Warkentin has held the seat that represents Grande Prairie since 2006, when he was elected in the riding of Peace River.
The Canadian Press is declaring that Warkentin and the Conservatives will be working as an opposition party once again, as a Liberal minority government has been projected.
