Man wanted in High Prairie arrested in Sherwood Park

Mounties say a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery in High Prairie has been arrested in Sherwood Park.

Slave Lake and High Prairie RCMP say the suspect and a female occupant were seen leaving Slave Lake on September 16 in a vehicle.

Police followed the suspect vehicle into Sherwood Park, alleging the vehicle was being driven dangerously and swerved into oncoming traffic. Authorities say the suspects eventually stopped the vehicle in a Sherwood Park neighbourhood and ran away.

Both were located and arrested a short time later.

Twenty-five-year Jericho Grey is facing charges that include possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, obstructing a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, operation of a vehicle while prohibited, and two charges of possession of an illegal substance.

Grey has been remanded and is due in Sherwood Park court Wednesday, September 22.

The woman involved was released without charges.

Last December, Grey was handed a total of 270 days in jail over three separate proceedings in High Prairie court after pleading guilty to charges that included flight from a police officer, resisting a peace officer and possession of stolen property over $5000.
