County of Grande Prairie reveals official list of 2021 municipal election candidates

The County of Grande Prairie has released its official list of candidates who will be vying for a spot on council this October.

Amanda Frayn (Division 1), Leanne Beaupre (Division 3), Peter Harris (Division 6) and Brian Peterson (Division 7) have all been acclaimed.

This means there is a total of five divisions up for grabs in this fall’s election on October 18.

The 2021 municipal election is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 18. During this day, voting stations will be open in the County from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

There will also be advance polling stations open on October 13 from 4-8 p.m. and October 16 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m at the following locations:

• Evergreen Park, TARA Centre, 55051 TWP RD 710, County of Grande Prairie.
• Hythe Legion, 9818 100 Ave., Hythe.
• Sexsmith Civic Centre, 9917 99 Ave., Sexsmith

For a list of polling stations available by division on Election Day, Monday, October 18, visit www.countygp.ab.ca/elections.

Residents who need special ballots can receive one by completing the special ballot application or by contacting the Returning Officer at legislativeservices@countygp.ab.ca or 780-532-9722.

Special ballots will be mailed to voters and must be returned no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day.
