The Grande Prairie Storm dropped their second game in a row Tuesday night, as they were thumped by their Highway 43 rivals.

The Whitecourt Wolverines used three goals in the first and three more in the middle frame to cruise past the Storm 7-1.

The Wolverines were led by 20-year-old Christiano Aiello, who netted a hat trick and two assists to cap off a five-point night. Thomas Vela potted a pair of goals in the win as well.

Grande Prairie native Edge Lambert had the lone goal for the Storm, his third of the season. Goaltender Ty Marcinkowksi made 30 saves in the loss, which was also his Storm debut.

The loss drops the Storm to 1-3-1 on the young season, and the Storm close out their three game homestand with a 1-2 record.

The team will look to get back in the win column as they head to the AJHL Showcase in Brooks.

The Storm’s first of a pair of games in southern Alberta is Thursday afternoon against the Drumheller Dragons. They will then play the Camrose Kodiaks on Friday morning.

All games can be streamed on HockeyTV.
