Grande Prairie RCMP investigating Monday night shooting

Grande Prairie RCMP are investigating a shooting they say took place near downtown on Monday night.

Police say just before 11 p.m. officers responded to a shooting in the area of 105 Avenue and 100 Street.

There, police found a 32-year-old male victim who had suffered non-life threatening injuries. The man was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries.

Grande Prairie RCMP say they do not believe there is any danger to the public as a result of the shooting, and the detachment’s General Investigation Section is leading an investigation into the incident.

No further details are being released by authorities at this time.
