Whitecourt forward Christian Aiello continued his early season success against the Grande Prairie Storm Wednesday night, helping lead his Wolverines over their Highway 43 rivals 3-2 in a shootout.

The 20-year-old scored and added an assist in regulation before potting the shootout winner, giving the Wolverines their fifth win in their last six games.

Aiello has now tallied seven points in two games against the Storm this season. This after he posted a five-point night at the Bonnetts Energy Centre on Sept. 28.

As for the Storm, they received goals from defenceman Ben Keon and forward Ethan Strang, scoring their first and third goals of the season respectively.

Rookie Aidan Feddema made 27 saves in net for the Storm in his AJHL debut.

Wednesday’s result pushed the Storm’s winless skid to five games. The team currently sits in last place in the AJHL’s North Division with a record of 1-5-2.

The Storm will look to rally as they return home this weekend. The team hosts the Drayton Valley Thunder Friday night at the Bonnetts Energy Centre, with puck drop set for 7 p.m.

They will then welcome the Olds Grizzlys on Saturday night. Game time for that one is at 6 p.m.
