Storm, Grizzlys engage in high scoring affair

Oct 10, 2021 | 9:50 AM

There was no lack of offence on Saturday night as the Grande Prairie Storm hosted the Olds Grizzlys for the only time in the 2021-22 AJHL regular season.

The teams combined for 12 goals – 6 in the third period alone – as the Grizzlys picked up their first regulation win of the season, and second win overall, a 7-5 triumph over the Storm.

Colby Browne, Hudson Norris, and Noah Hackett each scored twice for the Grizzlys, while Tristan Baumung added a single.

Nathaniel Bierd and Edge Lambert each scored twice for the Storm, while Zach Brooks added the other goal.

Power plays were a key component to Saturday’s matchup, as both teams went 3 for 5 with the man advantage. The Grizzlys led 2-1 after the first, with the game tied at 3 after forty minutes.

The loss left the Storm winless in their last seven games.

They will try to change that Tuesday night when their current three game home stand wraps up against Sherwood Park.
