Canadian Red Cross sending medical personnel to to assist in Grande Prairie
Public Safety Canada says the Canadian Red Cross is sending medical personnel to Grande Prairie and other parts of the province to help with the healthcare system crunch caused by the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a tweet sent out Friday afternoon, the federal agency says two Red Cross members will be sent to Grande Prairie, with another two being sent to Red Deer.
This comes as part of the medical assistance request made by Premier Jason Kenney, which will see up to 20 members of the Red Cross come to assist at hospitals in Alberta through the fourth wave of COVID-19.
