Oct 19, 2021 | 1:39 PM

Alberta has issued its final provincial crop report for this year.

It says 95.4 per cent of the Peace Region crop had been combined by October 12.

The five-year average is 65.2 per cent, the 10-year average 75 per cent.

The report says 92 per cent of the canola had been done by that date with all other crops between 95 and 100 per cent.

The good weather last week before the rain and snow meant a lot of producers were able to finish harvest.

The report says forage reserves are rated 10 per cent deficit, 39 per cent shortfall, 47 per cent adequate and four per cent surplus.

Surface soil moisture was rated 40 per cent poor, while sub-surface moisture was rated 36 per cent poor.
