MD of Greenview election results: Six incumbents returning to council chambers

Six councillors will be unofficially returning to MD of Greenview council following Monday’s election.

Starting in Grande Cache in Wards 1 and 9, Winston Delorme was acclaimed in Ward 1, while incumbents Tyler Olson and Duane Didow were re-elected in Ward 9, both edging out Robert Staples.

In Ward 2 – Little Smoky, Ryan Ratzlaff has claimed a narrow victory over Catherine Wiltse and Sara Nichol. The unofficial results there have Ratzlaff with 71 votes, Wiltse with 63 and Nichol with 45. Ratzlaff will be taking over for Dale Gervais, who did not run for re-election.

In Ward 3- Valleyview, Sally Rossen edged out Darren Soderquist 157 votes to 129. Rosson will take over from Leslie Urness, who did not seek re-election.

In Ward 4 – Sunset House/Sweathouse, Dave Berry edged out incumbent Shawn Acton 98 votes to 53. Dave Hay finished third with 26 votes.

In Ward 5 – New Fish Creek, incumbent Dale Smith defeated Danielle Bourgoin 133 votes to 50. Smith spent the latter part of the previous term as Reeve of the MD.

In Ward 6 – DeBolt, incumbent Tom Burton earned his seat back with a 185 vote to 144 victory over Mike Gerwatoski.

Newcomer Jennifer Scott was acclaimed in Ward 7 – Ridgevalley, Crooked Creek, Sturgeon Heights.

In Ward 8 – Grovedale, incumbent William Smith and newcomer Christine Schlief will unofficially represent the region, claiming 203 and 153 votes respectively. Cameron Hood (138 votes), Kristeva Dowling (122 votes), and Tammy Day (97 votes) came up short.

All election results are unofficial until Friday, October 22.
