Toronto FC looks to spoil Montreal’s playoff run in latest instalment of derby match
TORONTO — The juices still flow for a Montreal-Toronto derby, even if one team is 17 points behind the other.
Sixth-place CF Montreal (11-10-9) looks to consolidate its place above the playoff line in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference when it visits 13th-place Toronto FC (6-17-7) on Saturday night.
“It’s a derby. We want to beat them obviously,” said Toronto midfielder Jonathan Osorio. “We always want to beat them, no matter what. It’s a special match.
“The stakes are pretty high for them and we would love to hurt their chances to make the playoffs.”
