Trustee election results for PWPSD made official

Results of the Peace Wapiti Public School Division trustee elections have been made official.

Newcomer Martine Piebiak won the vote in Ward 1, 374-272, over incumbent trustee Kari Scheers. Ward 1 takes in Eaglesham, Woking, and Rycroft.

Incumbent Wendy Kelm has been re-elected in Ward 5 over two other contenders, Lynn Driedger and Cameron Donald. Ward 5 serves the Grande Prairie West and Wembley area. Kelm got 311 votes, Driedger 217, and Donald 77.

Incumbent Stefanie Clarke will continue to represent Ward 7, Grande Prairie East and Grovedale. She earned 369 votes ahead of the 199 for Lisa Arlint.

Newcomers Blaine Riding in Ward 2, Dwayne Speager in Ward 4, and Millie Turner in Ward 8 were all acclaimed, as were incumbents Lori Grant in Ward 3, Dale Crane in Ward 6, and Dana McIntosh in Ward 9.

The new board for the Peace Wapiti Public School Division will be sworn in at the organizational meeting set for October 28.
