Nitehawk Annual Ski & Snowboard Swap & Sale returns after one-year hiatus

Oct 29, 2021 | 6:00 AM

Nitehawk will be holding its annual Ski & Snowboard Swap & Sale November 5 and 6 at Evergreen Park’s TARA Centre.

General Manager Johnathan Clarkson says organizers are glad to be bringing it back this year.

“We had to take a year off last year just due to COVID, but we’ve been working with the team at Evergreen Park to find a way to make this happen in a safe manner,” explained Clarkson.

“The way we’re going to do that is by implementing a one-third capacity for the facility. Essentially what that means is we’ve had to take online bookings for people wanting to book their viewing time.

Drop-off will be on November 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. Clarkson says people are asked to pre-submit equipment information.

“The hope there is to speed up the check-in process. As many people know when they check-in at ski swaps, it could take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes,” said Clarkson.

“So, what we’re hoping here is by you pre-submitting your equipment details, we’ll have all the labels pre-printed. You’ll walk up, give us your confirmation number and we’ll grab your sheet of labels, and we’ll label all your gear so you’re not having to stand there waiting for our volunteers to write out all the information.”

Viewing time bookings are on November 6.

Clarkson says the 9 a.m. pre-booking time is already sold out but there are still spots available at 11 a.m.,1 p.m., and 3 p.m.

“We are charging a $40 booking fee and that will be applied against your purchases either as a credit or as long as you show up at the swap, you’ll get a coupon with the $40 on that when you walk in the door.”

“As long as you show up for your booking, we will refund you your $40.00.”

Equipment information submissions and viewing time bookings can be done through Nitehawk’s website.
