Northern lights to be visible in most of Canada this weekend

AuroraMAX, a northern lights observatory, shared an image on Facebook, saying that, “If your region is shaded green on the map, be on the lookout for northern lights Oct 30-31!”

The map showed nearly all regions of the country, including Northern Alberta, shaded in green during the Halloween weekend.

The northern lights were visible in the region just a couple of weeks ago and it looks like we will have another chance to see them.

If you want to view the lights for yourself, AuroraMAX suggests finding a place free of light pollution, as bright city lights make low-intensity auroras difficult to see.

As well, check the weather forecasts in your area. As of 9 a.m. Saturday, Environment Canada says Grande Prairie can expect a few clouds Saturday night and a low of minus 11 degrees.

Alternatively, you can watch the aurora borealis online here.
