Grande Prairie adds two new COVID-19 cases, 15 recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added two new cases of COVID-19 and 15 recoveries for Monday, November 1, bringing the active case total in the Swan City down to 145.

In the County of Grande Prairie, there was one new case and nine recoveries recorded Monday, bringing its active case total down to 56.

As a whole, Alberta added 315 new cases on Monday following the completion of approximately 7,544 tests, resulting in a 4.2 per cent positivity rate.

Active case totals, as of November 1 among Peace Region municipalities, are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 145 active (-13)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 56 active (-8)
  • MD of Greenview: 15 active (-3)
  • Birch Hills County: four active (-)
  • MD of Spirit River: six active (-)
  • Saddle Hills County: 14 active (+1)
  • MD of Peace: 38 active (-9)
  • MD of Fairview: seven active (-3)
  • MD of Smoky River: six active (-1)
  • Big Lakes County: 71 active (-9)
  • Clear Hills County: four active (-3)
  • County of Northern Lights: seven active (-)
  • Northern Sunrise County: five active (-)
  • Mackenzie County: 161 active (-22)

Across the province, hospitalizations increased by two to 691, while the number of ICU patients went up by two to 159.

Of those admitted to intensive care with COVID-19, 133 are unvaccinated and 18 are fully vaccinated.

In the North Zone, there are 92 people in the hospital (up, one), while nine people are in the ICU (unchanged).

There were eight deaths from COVID-19 reported to Alberta Health over the last 24 hours, bringing the provincial death toll to 3,119.
