Grande Prairie adds eight new COVID-19 cases, 18 recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added eight new cases of COVID-19 and 18 recoveries for Wednesday, November 3, bringing the active case total in the Swan City down to 133.

In the County of Grande Prairie, there were four new cases and 10 recoveries recorded Wednesday, bringing the active case total to 51.

As a whole, Alberta added 516 new cases on Wednesday following the completion of 12,388 tests, resulting in a 4.2 per cent positivity rate.

Active case totals, as of November 3 among Peace Region municipalities, are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 133 active (-10)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 51 active (-6)
  • MD of Greenview: 14 active (-)
  • Birch Hills County: three active (-1)
  • MD of Spirit River: five active (-)
  • Saddle Hills County: 14 active (-)
  • MD of Peace: 27 active (-5)
  • MD of Fairview: eight active (+1)
  • MD of Smoky River: four active (-2)
  • Big Lakes County: 65 active (+2)
  • Clear Hills County: five active (-)
  • County of Northern Lights: 10 active (+3)
  • Northern Sunrise County: five active (-)
  • Mackenzie County: 141 active (-17)

Across the province, hospitalizations dropped by 20 to 677, while the number of ICU patients went down by nine to 146.

Of those admitted to intensive care with COVID-19, 126 are unvaccinated and 16 are fully vaccinated.

In the North Zone, 99 people are in hospital (up one), while eight people are in the ICU (down one).

A total of four deaths from COVID-19 were reported to Alberta Health from across the province over the last 24 hours, bringing the provincial death toll to 3,137.
