UPDATE: The freezing rain warning for the Grande Prairie area has ended.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the Grande Prairie-Beaverlodge-Valleyview forecast area Friday.

The weather office warns highways and roads may be icy in the region this morning because of the rain, and drivers are urged to slow down and drive to the conditions.

511 Alberta reports many sections of Peace Region highway are covered in snow and ice Friday morning.
