Grande Prairie records six new COVID-19 cases, 12 recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added six new cases of COVID-19 and 12 recoveries for Monday, November 15, bringing the active case total in the Swan City down to 125.

In the County of Grande Prairie, there were five new cases and five recoveries recorded Monday, keeping the active case total there at 72.

As a whole, Alberta added 321 new cases on Monday, following the completion of approximately 6,425 tests. Those tests had a 5.1 per cent positivity rate.

Active case totals, as of November 15 among Peace Region municipalities, are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 125 active (-6)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 72 active (-)
  • MD of Greenview: 11 active (-1)
  • Birch Hills County: three active (-1)
  • MD of Spirit River: one active (-)
  • Saddle Hills County: eight active (-)
  • MD of Peace: 25 active (-1)
  • MD of Fairview: four active (-1)
  • MD of Smoky River: four active (-2)
  • Big Lakes County: 39 active (-1)
  • Clear Hills County: two active (-2)
  • County of Northern Lights: 11 active (+1)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 11 active (+1)

Across the province, hospitalizations declined by one to 518, with 101 of those patients in the ICU, an increase of one from the day prior.

Of those admitted into intensive care with COVID-19, 86 are unvaccinated and 11 are fully vaccinated.

In the North Zone, 70 people are in hospital (down four), while seven people are in the ICU (unchanged).

There were 13 deaths reported to Alberta Health over the last 24 hours, bringing the provincial death toll to 3,201.

In Grande Prairie, 73.1 per cent of people who are eligible have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine (60.7 per cent of the total population), while 66.9 per cent of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated (55.5 per cent of the total population).

In Alberta, 87.9 per cent of eligible Albertans aged 12 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 82.3 per cent of those eligible are fully vaccinated
