County Snow Clearing

Snow clearing starts Wednesday in County residential neighborhoods

Nov 16, 2021 | 4:58 PM

County of Grande Prairie residential snow removal crews will begin work Wednesday, starting in the Westlake Estates and Whispering Ridge subdivisions.

The County says temporary parking restrictions will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in those areas.

Once clearing is complete there, crews will head to Clairmont from 100 to 113 Avenue. That will be followed by clearing in Wedgewood, Taylor Estates and Maple Ridge.

Residents are reminded that temporary parking restrictions are put in place 24 hours in advance, when possible, and “No Parking” signage will be posted at entrances to the area.

Vehicles left on the street when a parking restriction is in place may be ticketed and/or towed, the County warns.

“When ‘No Parking’ signs are visible, parking on roadways and streets will not be permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.,” add County officials.

Residents can also sign up for updates on snow removal by subscribing to the notifications list at the County’s website.

“As crews make progress clearing in these residential areas and new temporary parking restrictions are put in place, updates will be emailed to webpage subscribers and applied to the interactive web map.”

The County also reminds residents that piling snow onto roads is illegal and could result in a $100 fine, as it slows the snow clearing process and creates a traffic safety hazard.
