High Prairie RCMP investigating reported robbery and assault in Grouard

High Prairie RCMP are looking to the public for information on a suspected robbery and assault in Grouard on Tuesday.

On November 16 at 10 p.m., Mounties responded to a 911 call of a reported robbery at a business on 47 street in Grouard.

Police say an initial investigation revealed two male suspects entered the store shortly before the 911 call, where the male suspects confronted the male employee.

Mounties say the employee was assaulted during the course of the robbery and suffered serious injuries.

The two male suspects reportedly left the business with merchandise from the store and left the area on foot.

Authorities say the employee was transported by EMS to the local hospital.

Suspect one is described by police as male, average height, with a medium build. The first suspect was wearing a black hoodie or hooded jacket with Adidas-style stripes on the arms and dark pants during the incident.

Police say the second suspect is described as a male, average height, medium build, and was reportedly wearing a black hoodie or hooded jacket with blue patches on the arms and light coloured pants during the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
