AUMA re-brands to simpler ‘Alberta Municipalities’

The Alberta Urban Municipalities Association has re-branded.

It is now called simply Alberta Municipalities (AM).

The organization held its annual convention this week in Edmonton.

“When our members spoke, we listened. Our members told us it was time for the Association to evolve alongside them and represent them in ways that reflected their identities and their aspirations. Our members said it was time to change our brand, our name, and our tagline,” a release states.

“We removed ‘urban’ from our name because members said they didn’t relate to it, and they define themselves as communities and municipalities. They also said the acronym AUMA simply didn’t hold any value for them.”
