Grande Prairie adds four new COVID-19 cases, 17 recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added four new cases of COVID-19 and 17 recoveries for Tuesday, November 23, bringing the active case total in the Swan City down to 120.

In the County of Grande Prairie, there were seven new cases and 10 recoveries Tuesday, lowering the active case total there to 81.

As a whole, Alberta added 464 new cases on Tuesday, following completion of 10,424 tests. Those tests resulted in a ~4.5 per cent positivity rate.

Active case totals, as of November 23 among Peace Region municipalities, are as follows:

• City of Grande Prairie: 120 active (-13)
• County of Grande Prairie: 81 active (-3)
• MD of Greenview: nine active (+2)
• Birch Hills County: zero active (-1)
• MD of Spirit River: four active (+1)
• Saddle Hills County: four active (-)
• MD of Peace: 17 active (-3)
• MD of Fairview: four active (-)
• MD of Smoky River: five active (-1)
• Big Lakes County: 13 active (-9)
• Clear Hills County: zero active (-)
• County of Northern Lights: 12 active (-1)
• Northern Sunrise County: 13 active (-5)

Across the province, hospitalizations decreased by five to 470, with 97 of those patients in the ICU, an increase of three from the day prior.

Of those in intensive care, 77 are unvaccinated and 13 are fully vaccinated.

In the North Zone, 64 people are in hospital (up two), while eight people are in the ICU (up one).

There were four deaths reported to Alberta Health over the last 24 hours, bringing the provincial death toll to 3,231.

In Grande Prairie, 73.7 per cent of people who are eligible have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine (61.1 per cent of the total population), while 68.1 per cent of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated (56.4 per cent of the total population).

In Alberta, 88.5 per cent of eligible Albertans aged 12 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 83.4 per cent of those eligible are fully vaccinated.
