Freezing rain warning ended for Grande Prairie area

UPDATE: The freezing rain warning issued for the Grande Prairie area early Thursday morning has ended.

Drivers throughout the Peace Country are being warned of freezing rain hitting the region by Environment Canada.

A freezing rain warning has been issued as a band of light freezing rain is passing over parts of northern Alberta tonight, including areas around Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, Peace River, Valleyview, Fox Creek, Whitecourt, High Prairie and Manning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery as a result of the rain.
