RCMP continue search for witnesses, info on Highway 43 hit and run

The RCMP are continuing their search for witnesses and anyone who has any information about a hit and run which occurred in October near Sturgeon Lake.

The hit and run occurred on October 9, two kilometers west of Range Road 230.

The pedestrian, a 20-year-old female, was struck in the westbound lanes of Highway 43 and was later discovered in the ditch by a passerby.

The collision occurred between the hours of 5:00-7:30 a.m that day, and the victim from Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation remains in hospital in critical condition.

“RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating witnesses who may have seen the collision or a female walking on Highway 43 near Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation between the hours of 5 a.m., and 7:30 a.m., on Oct. 9, 2021.”
